According to the contract with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on December 30th, 2009 Grandis Timber is obliged to bear responsibility for protection of 2259 ha of the area for promoting biodiversity and development of wildlife habitats. The area is sitting at the North-West of the concession. The area has been described by the government as evergreen, semi-evergreen, rehabilitation area and riparian zone splits by a watershed. The management plan has developed in 2016 since then the plan has implemented.
The goal of the management plan is to guide Grandis Timber to ensure that the biological, ecological and community integrity is either maintained or restored to natural levels.
To protect and conserve all kinds of plants and animals species, especially threatened and endangered species
- To maintain a balance of natural resources for wildlife habitats for future generations
- To reduce illegal activities in the conservation area and maintain watershed area and water quality.
